I haven't had Nation's in YEARS..... we stopped by yesterday after visiting my Mom's friend who is staying at a rehab across the street. It was a nice treat after an emotionally charged visit. Nation's has always been known for it's burgers and desserts. In addition, they also serve breakfast 24-7. This location is conveniently located on San Pablo Dam Road and is very clean. Here's the deets: CUSTOMER SERVICE: Despite what I read in the reviews, customer service was on point from go! Carlos and Lilliana were super sweet and no matter how many times my Mom and I returned back to the counter to ask for additional items, they never seemed annoyed and were very patient and pleasant with us. PARKING: Enough inside the establishment. BATHROOMS: Super clean FOOD: Mom ordered the Cowboy burger which came with a big beef patty along with two (2) tiny crispy onion rings, bacon and cheese....condiments you must ask for. I ordered the Harvest burger because I am vegetarian. TBH, with all the "fixings" (which is how it comes served- with iceburg lettuce, tomato and raw white onion and house dressing) - it is tasty. Without it, it's kind of bland unless you sprinkle some salt on it. Fries were crispy and well seasoned. If you're in the area, I would patronize it again. And try dessert the next time.
You won't need anything else after eating here Nation's is legendary for their mouth watering pies, burgers, and breakfast. My all time favorite is the cheesecake. I even like the grilled ham & cheese sandwiches with lettuce & tomatoes. They're always open until the wee hour it's across the street from the San Pablo Casino you can't miss it!.
Had a small hiccup (2nd time this happened with Nation's but not at this particular location), where I ordered my salmon burger with sourdough bread but when I received my order it was on the regular bread it comes with. The other location made a huge fuss about it and didn't accommodate me at all. I appreciate the staff at this location tonight because although they did push back and tell me that they don't see that note on my order, they re- made my sandwich and I was very pleased with that. I am leaving 4 stars only because it was a tad bit dirty in there. There was stuff on the floors and surfaces could use a good wiping down.
Pooka ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and I had a lettuce wrapped Salmon Burger. Food is good and what is expected. Service ok. Easy location and reliable. Now- clean and tidy...its ok. I mean that's not we were there for lol. They're a staple to the community, an iconic traditional burger joint, no frills, and I've probably eaten at Nations 50x in my life.
Nations has been a staple in this area for as long as I can remember. Solid comfort food, a variety of cheesecake and pie options, and reasonable prices go a long way. The restaurant was clean and our food didn't take too long to prepare.
